Tin Cans 2: Making It Your Own

Making your own themes/colourschemes for Tin Cans is EASY. No Coding, no css knowledge necessary. Just go to http://jquerymobile.com/themeroller/ and play around.

You can use the drag and drop colours, the kuler swatch colours, or click the "colours..." link next to the jquery mobile logo to select your own swatch colour.

Use the controls on the left of the page to change the global settings, like how strong the shadows and gradients, how big the round corners are and what fonts are used. If you're not sure about what to use for fonts, there's a really good list of "font stacks" here

Download the theme zip and save it somewhere on your computer. Extract it, and open up the "TheTheme.min.css" file.

Either:

Copy and paste the contents of the css file into the storyformat (Look for the bit that says "/* put custom theme css here */" )
Put the images folder in the directory where you'll put your finished story file (the html file). You'll need to put this folder wherever you upload your twine game to.

OR

Extract the whole zip in the directory where you'll be saving your finished story file (the html file)
Link to external css file with <link rel="stylesheet" href="themes/TheTheme.min.css" /> (replace the whole style block where the "/* put custom theme css here */" bit is)
Put the images folder in the directory where you'll put your finished story file. You'll need to put this folder wherever you upload your twine game to.
